Cheyenne & James knew each other for practically forever – but sparks officially flew once they rekindled on social media after college & an internship! Their ceremony took place outdoors on Cheyenne’s family’s land – in a cozy little spot that gave off MAJOR woodland-fairy vibes! It was the best kind of day for an October wedding: it was brisk, but not cold, overcast at times, and we got the prettiest golden-hour light trickling in through the trees during sunset!
Cheyenne described their first date:
“Oh my goodness how can I put into words our first day, it is one of those moments where time is no longer a thing. It felt as if we were the only two people alive. He took me down to a lake, and we had smores around a campfire. We talked for hours, about our friends, our goals, how our childhoods were. I felt as if I had known James my whole life, and I also got this strange feeling of wow this is so perfect…. could he be the one? I found myself thinking how silly I was this was absurd no one truly falls in love on their first date but that is exactly what I did, we both did.”
And the proposal:
“He took me down to the exact same place as our first date. He bent piping (he is a welder) that spelled out Will you marry me? and then lit it on fire, it didn’t go quite as planned but it was the most James thing ever so it was perfect to me!”
Thank you to my friend and amazing second photographer, Jane Wiggins for adventuring down to Missouri with me! 🙂
