I had the pleasure of photographing Holly & Mike last year for their engagement session. You can just feel the love in these photos. I like to ask my couples about their proposal and Holly sent us this:
“We were traveling home last September for a week for a family wedding. We hadn’t really discussed timing of being engaged or when it would happen, only that we both wanted to sometime in the near future. I had been hoping it would happen on this trip so that we would be home around family and friends, but I figured I would be able to pick up on some hints leading up to the trip that I would have a feeling that it might happen. Mike had been acting totally normal so I quit thinking about it and thought maybe it would happen when we’re home next over Christmas! Sunday after the family wedding, Mike mentioned wanting to go golding at the course my family lives on in Waverly (and where the reception will be now!) We often go golfing together (I don’t gold, I just enjoy riding along) so it seemed like a normal thing we might do while home. Unknown to me, he made a deal with himself that he would ask me on the hole he got a birdie shot on (1 shot under par, not always a guarantee for him!) Finally on hole number 5 ( we had started on the back 9, so we were about halfway through at this point) he got the birdie shot and got down on 1 knee and asked me! He had already told family and some close friends, and had organized a celebration dinner at his parents that night. It was everything I could have wanted being with family and friends after that moment to share my excitement with!”
