Andy & Hayley Wedding in New Hampton, IA

Andy & Hayley had the most beautiful wedding. If you think their wedding is as beautiful as I do… you’ll find their love story and proposal even more beautiful.

“Andrew and I took a trip we have been talking about doing for a very long time– a trip around Europe! We went with a tour group and became very good friends with another couple, around our age, on the trip. Andy brought a vest over with him with a bunch of pockets. I told him that he was crazy to wear a vest around Europe in the middle of July. He convinced me that it was necessary to have to hide our passports, money, etc. I didn’t know that the real reason he wanted the vest was to hide my engagement ring. We began our trip in London, Paris was next, followed by Amsterdam, and ending in Berlin. When we got to Paris, Andrew booked a sunset tour for us to visit the Eiffel Tower. (It was Friday, July 13th haha-what are the odds) We got all dressed up and headed over to the tour shop. We were early to check in and waited on a bench on the sidewalk. Another couple, around our parents’ age, came up to us and asked if we were there for the Eiffel Tower tour as well. They were from California and very friendly. After talking for a little while, they went inside to check in.

Shortly after, Andrew went inside to “use the restroom.” Little did I know, he was inside explaining his whole plan to the couple and asking if they would mind capturing it for us. The couple was thrilled to help. They stuck close by us for most of the tour and were very friendly. Andy later told me that she kept giving him a thumbs up and even once said, “I’m ready whenever you are” when I would turn my back to him and he was terrified that she would blow his cover.. haha! The tour began with being led by a guide and audio headsets. This lasted for close to an hour. When we completed the guide-led portion of the tour, it was time for us to roam around the tour on our own. There also happened to be a beautiful sunset at that exact time. Andy and I passed our headsets to the tour guide and I was ready to begin roaming around the tour. When we got to a side of the tour that had the most beautiful view, the couple came back over by us and Andy asked them to take a picture and video on the GoPro. He ended up getting down on one knee and asking him to be his forever. It was romantic, perfect, and an evening we will never forget! Paris, and the Eiffel Tower, will forever hold a very special place in our hearts.”
