These photos are incredibly special to me.  They are of my Mother’s sister, Kathi and her family, whom up until April, I hadn’t seen in years!  Last month was also the first time any of my kids had the chance to meet them (my girls ADORED cousin Hannah – even if they called her by every other name under the sun: Santa [kind of sounds like Hannah, right?], Aunt Tammy…?).

I wish we all lived closer, but that’s what happens when we grow up – things change, people move…

Once I’d heard the Richards’ were moving up their summer trip to Colorado (all the way from their home in Louisville, Kentucky), I knew I couldn’t not go and crash the fun 🙂  The timing worked out really well, being on maternity leave and what not.  Even though we only had a few short days together, they were glorious days – full of silly stories, food, and belly laughs.

My Aunt Kathi is fighting for her life right now.  If you pray, please include her in your prayers.

Dear Aunt Kathi,

I love you, and I’m rooting so hard for you.  You’ve got an army of prayer warriors lifting you up.  I hope you can feel it.  Sending so, so much love to you, Bill, & Hannah.

(Update 5-26-16)

Aunt Kathi went to be with Jesus late this past Monday night.  Our hearts are heavy with grief over losing her, but we are all so, so happy that she is no longer in any pain.  Cancer is a terrible beast.
